Its reputation as a retirement league may prove to be an albatross around its neck. Sure, MLS is getting stars—but not in their prime.
Meanwhile, #USL is developing American talent. And soon they’ll be competing against MLS with a promotion/relegation format—which all good soccer leagues have.
The other thing is, as much money as MLS has—no matter the Apple deal or the fancy stadiums or attendance—Liga MX teams are still better. And that’s because Mexicans develop talent.
But nevertheless, I’ve been supporting my local MLS team because the Whitecaps have history here.

Funfact am Rande: #Autowaschkarten die man bei der einen Aral gekauft hat funktionieren nicht bei der anderen. Da scheint jede Filiale ihr eigenes Süppchen zu kochen. @fbaum The first handcycle we saw in Monterey County was in 2010 or 2011, when we met Ed biking on the Monterey Bay Sanctuary Scenic Trail's City of Monterey section.
As we noted in our perennials post (where he's among those featured) https://bikemonterey.org/perennials-biking-monterey-county.html, Ed's career expertise demanded many working hours at the computer. That made those hours with his handcycle a very desirable way to keep life in balance! :)

Baked a new experimental bread.
- 15g dry yeast
- 15g sugar
- 400 cl water
- 150g whole-wheat flour
- 100g gari (dried yam)
- 350g T65 flour
- 25g olive oil
- 15g salt
Mixed in the bread maker in pizza mode and after an hour, took it out and put it into the oven at 220 degrees C (cold start).
It needs a little more salt and it didn't develop gluten so it is a bit powdery when cutting it.
I think I have to let it rise much longer than just an hour.
But it is delicious.
