    San Francisco followed Monterey's lead, putting center lanes on Valencia St, then realized that (for most locales) center bikeways aren’t the smartest design. Thanks to persistence of advocate & organizer @LukeBornheimer & other supporters of protected curbside bike lanes—not center lanes—things are looking up for Valencia.
