  38. For your consideration, an absurdly simple method of making the current git branch visible in the #unity3d editor and builds made from the editor:
    ```
    [UnityEditor.InitializeOnLoadMethod]
    static SomeMethodName()
    {
    File.Copy(".git/HEAD", "Assets/StreamingAssets/git-head.txt", true);
    }
    ```
    At runtime, load the text file from Application.streamingAssetsPath, clean up the beginning fluff, and you've got yourself a way to confirm the branch from which a build was made at runtime.
