  1. The EU opportunity and danger, what grassroots projects can offer

The #openweb reminds us that meaningful autonomy comes from shared infrastructure, collective governance, and mutual trust. Projects like #OMN are built on this understanding: individuals do not create networks alone; networks create the conditions that allow individuals to flourish. Real freedom grows from commons-based collaboration, not from isolated platforms or competitive silos. What can grassroots #openweb people actually do when the EU is building alternatives to #dotcons, but with […]

  5. We use hashtags as scaffolding for the needed social truth, not as slogans, but as scaffolding, lightweight markers that point to recurring structural issues: #geekproblem #fashernista #dotcons #blocking are not insults. They are shorthand for patterns that otherwise take pages to explain. But, without shared context, they are still easily misread as personal attacks. Again we face #blocking.

  6. “We, we, we,” they say – but who chooses the “we”?

Trump and Putin are the figureheads of the #deathcult and 3ed rate people like Staner are puppets. The #nastyfew, mostly invisible in the smoke and mirrors of #mainstreaming media, are the ones who push the "we". And they also invest in a part of our "progressive" paths, always much less affective than they need to be, let's look at this from the latest #AI tech the #dotcons and more importantly our own #NGO crew. The core of the #NGO mess: they claim to represent everyone, while foreclosing […]

  7. The #OMN Path: Openness as Revolution

Let's think outside the normal paths. This is about revolution as regeneration, not only destruction. In an era built on tech dependency, revolution isn’t only about smashing the machines, it’s about liberating them. Turning tools back into commons, not commodities. It’s composting the toxic monoculture of the #dotcons into fertile ground for the #openweb to grow again. Revolution means reclaiming agency, not blindly rejecting technology, but re-rooting it into light, human-scale, […]

  8. We remember asking for #QT on fedi, not in so few letters, but we did ask.

Someone explanted that fedi was different. People found #QTs to be abusive on the #dotcons. We thought about that and basically instantly realised that our past #behaviour may have been less civil.

    We adjusted.

I do not believe in yeilding to them (and many bots) who have descended upon Fedi, and specifically it seems, #Mastodon servers, in the past couple months.

They should learn like we did.

  9. There is such a thing as society -and the #openweb depends on it

There is such a thing as society. The entire #openweb is built on that assumption 🙂Deny it, and everything collapses into noise, power grabs, and enclosure. That denial, dressed up today as “post-truth” - is killing us. Our current media ecology is broken. So called #AI and Google are no longer a useful way to find information about most things that actually matter. This isn’t accidental; it’s a structural #dotcons problem. Extraction, advertising, and algorithmic manipulation […]

  10. Marking the difference between the #openweb and #closedweb

The last decades has seen a rapid shift toward #deathcult #mainstreaming, where the boundaries between #open and #closed have intentionally blurred, this is also mirrored in our alt cultures. The "common sense" #geekproblem confusion serves the interests of the #dotcons and the #deathcult, not the people. The language of the #hashtagstory can be used to sharpens this divide and give people the tools to see, thus act on, the reality of the paths they’re walking and engaging with. The […]

  11. Slow-boil threats to #Fediverse.

One attack seems to involve random people spinning up instances they can't maintain and then they put them on #CAGEMAFIA-servers with reasoning like they can't afford the money to setup things properly, they are under attack, they are ill etc.

Then there are influencer-type accounts, and once they have a lot of followers they simply move them, with their followers to a #dotCon server.

These could legitimately be called #DotConCatFishing.

  12. @nonlinear

Interesting. We checked a while back and found that the three initial banks were being #MITMd by #CloudFlare and another #dotcon.

Allegedly, "#bitcoin-accepting" #banks are being targetted. Ie. banks that allowed people to move between bitcoin and #fiat are the ones having their confidence undermined. Apparently #ElizabethWarren is partly involved for an open letter that caused an initial run.

No doubt they will try to capitalise on all this by starting the #CBCD.

    #confidencTrick

  13. @lispi314
That is the latest from their I2P implementation.

Re timing of the attack: its likely a response to being integrated into the #bitcoin network. First a #botFarm attack on #dotCon-based #messageBoards in an attemp to have I2Ps page banned. Then other network attacks followed, now zzz and their site is completely disappeared.

While #I2Pd exists and is a good, its targetted to the power user and lacks a native #torrenting client. Though, the last thing zzz did was release a standalone.

  14. CW: Assange-exposed Goo'Jigsaw sets target on Europe

    After #suppressing so-called anti-#Ukraine content in #Poland, the #dotcon will now target #Germany via #advertising.

    rt.com/news/571433-google-disi

    > "Using #ads as a vehicle to counter (…) #disinformation is pretty novel," said #BethGoldberg, Head of research and development at #Jigsaw. "We’re excited about the results."

Fedifrens, how might #vitality be drained by fake ads selling #narratives?

FYI, #uBlock is on #TorBrowser by default in #TailOS.

  15. The development side of #MakingHistory

Building radical alternatives is not just about ideas—it’s about infrastructure. The #makeinghistory project is grounded in the messy, often frustrating work of creating tools that actually function for real communities. We’ve spent decades watching #dotcons centralize power while open projects stumble due to lack of focus, infighting, or simply being too obscure for everyday use.

#Makinghistory means stepping outside the cycle of dead-end open-source projects that never reach real people. We need bridging solutions, funding models outside the #NGO trap, and devs who understand grassroots needs. It’s not about innovation for its own sake, it’s about making the #openweb function better as a lived alternative.

This is where the real fight is. Not in reaction, not in abstraction, but in building tools people can and will use.

This project builds from a simple truth: we’re failing to communicate across divides that matter, and the #openweb continues to decline in the face of #dotcons like Meta (#failbook), Google, Amazon, and Apple. The inspiration, the technical model draws from Dave […]

  17. Mastodon, Meta and Threads

For people who focus on working with the #dotcons there are meany traps, and a lot of dead-ends. This is less of an issue for people fighting them, the problem here is "common sense" #blocking this second useful path, which is a much less lucrative and a thank less task. So we will continue to have more people on the first mess path. A post that grew from a toot seed, I wonder if Mastodon is to Meta what Firefox once was to Google a small but significant project that big corporations can […]

  18. The Potential of #Hashtags as Shared Social Paths

#Hashtags have potential to be used for social change. They create connections between people, amplify voices, and mobilize communities. When used effectively, they transform individual expressions into collective movements. However, the current culture presents significant challenges to this.

    The Problem of #StupidIndividualism

Today we are shaped by #stupidindividualism, on this path hashtags become acts of individual expression rather than collective tools for change. This individualistic approach hides the potential for constructive use. Instead of fostering solidarity and shared purpose, hashtags become fragmented and lose any meaning and thus impact.

#Dotcons as temples of the #Deathcult

Tech silos like Facebook (#failbook) and generally the dominant digital corporations (#dotcons) exacerbate this problem. Their business models and design promote individualism over community, a culture obsessed with profit and control at the expense of human values—creates a landscape where meaningful social change is impossible to achieve.

    The Need for Collective Action

For #hashtags to regain their function as tools for social change, there needs to be a shift from individualism to collectivism. This requires:

    1. Shared Understanding: Developing a common understanding of the issues and the role hashtags can play in addressing them.
    2. Community Building: Using hashtags to build and strengthen communities rather than just expressing individual opinions.
    3. Strategic Use: Deploying hashtags strategically to mobilize action, raise awareness, and create pressure for change.
    4. Platform Accountability: Holding digital platforms accountable with the #4opens

The Role of Movements like #XR

Movements like Extinction Rebellion (#XR), though well on the #fluffy side, can play a role in this transformation. By emphasizing collective action and the power of grassroots mobilization, they could seed hashtags to build a global community, a common cause.

Conclusion, Hashtags have potential to be used for grassroots social change, but this potential is blocked by our #mainstreaming of individualism, which is pushed by our continuing use of the #dotcons. To harness the power of hashtags, there needs to be a shift towards native #openweb tools and a more collective agenda, community building, and strategic use. Movements like #XR could be a part of this path, as could projects like #OMN #indymediaback and #OGB

  20. Digital Detox Is Urgently Needed

Fighting #fashionistas with fashion. We have an app outline for that: iPhone or android. Not as a lifestyle tweak, not as wellness branding, not as another individual “better habits” story. These proposed apps and the wider projects have nothing to do with self-optimisation, productivity hacks, or personal purity. Framing it that way is already defeat - that’s #stupidindividualism doing the work of the #dotcons for them. What we’re facing in our digital mess isn’t only a failure […]
