The alarm jolts me out of an interesting dream (I was in a classroom making a solid point) and into the darkened bedroom; I pull myself into the world and move downstairs for coffee and toast. Then hit the road, arriving at Roosevelt Circle at 7:30, setting up my big sign, coupling my speaker, and holding up 2021 IPCC REPORT: "CODE RED" FOR HUMANITY. No Craige today.

Monday morning finds me getting up with the alarm's beeps, then drinking my pre-vigil coffee in the quiet kitchen, eating the penultimate slice of last week's bread (baking later this morning, hurrah), and heading out, arriving at Roosevelt Circle at 7:30. Bunker as a metaphor
There is something revealing about the way powerful people talk about our future, when they imagine crisis, they imagine their escape. A luxury bunker, fortress border, a private city, a rocket or an #AI cloud. A place for the self chosen few to survive while everyone else is left outside to die. This is the "logic" of the #deathcult we all worship, if the world is breaking, protect yourself rather than repair the world.
