The Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts’ Iconoclasts of Jazz Series is a partnership between the JGCA, Neil Davis, and Jamie Breiwick featuring the music of individual and collective greats of the genre presented by Milwaukee-area professional musicians and students.

@brunty @neil I agree. I've been doing #homelab / #homeprod before that term even existed. I have #selfhosted email before both personally and professionally. I WON'T host pubic email. That doesn't mean I don't store my own email. I use #getmail to pull all my mail accounts into a selfhosted #IMAP server. This way if my mail server is inaccessable, the mail just sits on the remote mailboxes until my server is back up. I also don't have to maintain good IP reputaions and #SPF and #dkim records.

Storm Ingrid set to batter South West Wales with heavy rain, strong winds and flooding risk
Yellow warnings in place for South Wales
The Met Office has issued Yellow weather warnings for rain across South Wales, including Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Swansea and Neath Port Talbot, as Storm Ingrid brings another spell of wet and windy weather to the region.
Forecasters say the storm — named by the Portuguese national weather service — will sweep in from the southwest early on Friday, with conditions expected to worsen through the day and into Saturday morning.

Met Office Chief Forecaster Neil Armstrong said the system could cause problems even though rainfall totals in Wales won’t reach the extreme levels expected in parts of Scotland.
“While rainfall totals in Northern Ireland, south Wales and parts of the southwest of England won’t reach those that we’ll see in parts of Scotland, there’s still a potential for some disruption, particularly for travel.”
The Met Office says the warnings highlight the risk of fast‑flowing or deep floodwater, difficult driving conditions and the possibility of some communities being temporarily cut off.

Storm Ingrid is expected to bring more than 20mm of rain for some areas, falling on ground already soaked by weeks of unsettled weather. Forecasters warn that even modest rainfall could lead to surface flooding, swollen rivers and blocked routes.
Along the coast, large waves and strong gusts are likely, with winds of 45–50mph inland and peaks of up to 60mph possible in exposed areas.
Friday looks worst for South West Wales
The Met Office says the worst of the weather for Wales will arrive on Friday, with rain pushing in from the southwest and lingering into Saturday morning before easing.
Scotland will continue to see the heaviest rainfall, with some high‑ground areas expected to exceed 100mm, but South West Wales remains firmly in the zone for disruption.
More unsettled weather to follow
Low pressure will continue to dominate through the weekend, bringing further spells of rain and wind. Looking ahead to next week, the Met Office says there is still uncertainty, but wintry conditions are possible in parts of the UK, especially further north and east.

"Neil Blake weighs a paper bag of fake grass fragments he has collected from a stormwater gutter near #DarebinCreek in #Melbourne’s north.
"Over the past three years Blake has conducted 56 collections of synthetic turf in the waterway alongside the KP Hardiman Reserve hockey pitch.
" 'I noticed that a local hockey pitch was being replaced and the plastic surface was running off into the local environment,' he says. Strong northerly winds and #LeafBlowers had helped shed the turf fragments into the local #environment.
"In addition to impacts on #AquaticEcosystems, scientific analysis suggests #PlasticPollution is exacerbating #ClimateChange, #biodiversity loss and #OceanAcidification.
"Australians produce more than 3m tonnes of plastic waste each year, and according to Clean Up’s annual survey of parks, beaches, creeks and other public spaces, plastics make up more than 80% of litter across the country. A review by the New South Wales chief scientist found that one #SyntheticTurf field could transport between 10kg and 100kg of plastic fragments into the #stormwater system or local waterways.
"Blake has taken advantage of the electronic scales provided by the newly opened community science laboratory in the Port Phillip #EcoCentre in #StKilda, to quantify his samples to present to the local council and the Environment Protection Authority. The lab hosts facilities including microscopes, measuring equipment, safety gear and access to advice from trained scientists.
"It’s one example of citizen scientists tackling the growing problem of plastics in #waterways, including #beaches, #rivers and dive sites around the country."
