I gave a talk on roller derby at #Monktoberfest this morning and was immediately asked by two people if I knew @miketheman.
I'm a context-dependent person, so at first it was a lot of squinty not sure eyes (by me). After the idea soaked for approximately 6 hours, everything finally clicked and now the world feels a little smaller in a very nice way.

On days when I get sad about how much malware and trash folks upload to PyPI that I end up sifting through, I'll take a moment and search for posts with #PyPI on social platforms.
The overwhelming amount of folks who are excited and celebrating their publishing of projects to the Index definitely feels like it outweighs the abuse, and provides me with renewed energy.Keep writing #Python and sharing useful #OpenSouce for others!

Well, another #PyConUS is done (for me - #Sprints continue for another couple of days!)
It was excellent catching up with old friends and meeting tons of new ones. Pittsburgh was definitely a super cool vibe, 2025 should be fun too.
I'm looking forward to recharging my depleted physical batteries, so I can jump into all the important work we have ahead of us to continue to support this amazing community.

I seem to have lost the plot about pundits and how the world works. I read the daily posting of Mike the Mad Biologist. Have for years. I do not understand why he contiues to link to substack authors. For the most part I refuse to read anything published at "the old nazi bar"™. Installed Kill Yr Substack browser extension the other day so... what the hell I go read a post by Judd Legum about how Coachella performers are funding the MAGA movement. ON SUBSTACK. Do you think his pulling my leg? Wonder what he's doing? Takes one to know one?
I'm old, world has changed... but what passes for punditry these days is messed up. Maybe the scales have fallen from my eyes.
