Within the next 500,000,000 years or so the planet will become #uninhabitable simply because our #Sun is ageing and slowly expanding, but if we keep letting #anthropogenic #ClimateChange go unchallenged it will happen much, MUCH faster than that.
We need a two pronged approach: deal with and adapt to the damage already done, and prevent it going completely out of control.
At some stage we need to get off this planet, no matter what, but let's ensure we have enough time to do it.

I reckon that #Spotify employees who got laid off recently are going to find it VERY hard to find a new job. These are 6% of the people who over several recent years were completely unable to fix that platform's #ShittyShuffle which kept repeating the same small #subset of a #Playlist while never playing some of the other 1000 or so songs in the list. Not even if you're a #PayingCustomer. Sorry if this sounds harsh but with that #shuffle spotify deserves to die.

@rbreich I think humanity needs to move on to a #PostEmployment phase. As more and more tasks become #automated we simply cannot sustain a society where a person's ability to enjoy a life beyond the most basic #subsistence level is contingent upon them having a #job. Which means we need to #educate ourselves to find a sense of self worth in following our own #interests and #passion rather than our #JobDescription

So what are your tips to prevent your #cat becoming a #PukeyPuss? I know #kittehs gotta do what kittehs gotta do when it comes to #hairball accumulations, but our Tobi is one of those #feline fellows who doesn't know when to stop eating so he sometimes barfs just because he's overeating. I now feed them 3x a day, small amounts and that helps but all other suggestions are welcome. I also leave the soft food in a single slab of jelly so it's a little more difficult, i.e. slower, to eat.

@joseph @lauren True, but it can become "evil" when pointing out #FediverseHurdles or #MastodonHurdles is responded to with techie #snobbery ... every time a #newbie expresses frustration with an unintuitive #ux and the reaponse is a haughty #rtfm, you're likely to lose a potential new addition to the #community. We should all aim to make newcomers feel welcome, and an #intuitive ux is essential to that.

We do understand that we're not in federated clones of #fecesbook or the #birdsite but those sites became popular because they did do some things right.
