I've been rooting for this and other #Twitteralternatives since we lost the old #birdsite, and now we have #threads – which I think has a better chance of filling the social broadcasting hole #muskstwitter opened up than any of the "clones" to date. More thoughts here: https://www.netfamilynews.org/threads-the-new-social-media-kid It'll never be truly decentralized, right? But its promise to be interoperable makes things interesting, don't you think?

We can tell how well Twitter is doing by the quality and appropriateness of its adverts.

Big name brands, well targeted, indicate a healthy advertising ecosystem. Weird ads for niche products suggest something's wrong.
