    I wasn't officially on the books but when I was in high school, I would routinely go with my next-door neighbor to his job at a mausoleum and crematorium.

    Apparently I was Goth before Goth was a thing.

    It's not only fair but accurate to say seventeen year-old me didn't understand death or what it does to the survivors.

    It also gave me an abiding hatred of organ music.

  8. @rbreich I think humanity needs to move on to a #PostEmployment phase. As more and more tasks become #automated we simply cannot sustain a society where a person's ability to enjoy a life beyond the most basic #subsistence level is contingent upon them having a #job. Which means we need to #educate ourselves to find a sense of self worth in following our own #interests and #passion rather than our #JobDescription
