Judea and Samaria (West Bank) were occupied by Jordan for 19 years from 1948 and 1967.
During this period Jerusalem was heavily "Islamised" to enhance its Muslim character at the expense of Jews and Christians.
Jews were expelled, dozens of synagogues and thousands of graves were destroyed, and Jewish religious sites were used exclusively by Muslims.
