I think I've worked out why my string matching in `iptables` hasn't been working.
When I do get it to log, it's reporting 64 byte packets. For packets that Wireshark says are 78 bytes. Because it's just reporting the IP frame size, not the full Ethernet frame size. And so my offsets have been out by an Ethernet header size that I assumed was in the packet calculations.
Because it's IP Tables, of course 😑

One of the reasons one doesn’t ship typewriters in packing peanuts without completely first wrapping the typewriter with something first is that the typewriter will be full of packing peanuts by the time it arrives at its destination. Thirty minutes to clean peanuts out of every part of the machine is annoying. -
I am about to close my luggage yet another time, closing yet another chapter of my life in yet another European city.
While #packing, in the last few days, I realized that I have had the incredible privilege of #moving on an average every six months (🤯) in the last four years, and I also took many life-changing trips in between.
The cities I call(ed) home are #Turin, #Venice, #Grenoble, #Berlin, Riva Ligure (#Sanremo), and now #Tallinn.
It is so hard to keep up with the huge amount of feelings and inputs this kind of life entails, especially while being in my 20s.
Still, I am glad, immensely grateful, and partly even thorn, because I would never have had any of this if it wasn’t for my #privilege.
