Not too bad this weekend. I ended up with 39 POTA contacts on a mix of bands. It was rather fun, and got a few new ones that finally gave me 1000 parks hunted!

I learned by listening to the #GordonWest cassette series from #RadioShack. When I took my tests, I think the license I got was called Tech Plus, or something like that.
I passed the 5wpm test, and they talked me into taking the 13wpm test. Somehow, I passed it, so at least I didn't have to take another code test for a while.
I never really could do #CW until I got on the air. There was a #Novice portion of #40m, and I hung out there, and it all worked

The last 2 weekends in one map. The bands have been horrible lately, and this is all I got. Mostly all on 20 meters, a few on 40 meters. It was tough but fun.

This weekend, I am gonna participate in the #SKCC #WES ..
Since this is #StraightKey territory, I am gonna end call contacts with the old school "shave and a haircut" instead of just sending dit-dit.
Just cuz that was my favorite part of #MorseCode back when all I had was the #novice band on #40m.

This weekend was an interesting one. Yesterday was amazing band conditions and got most of my contacts, but today was kinda meh. There was lots of QRN, and propagation wasn't all that great. But ya know, I'll take 52 POTA contacts for a weekend! And I snuck one LLOTA contact in there too!

Holy cow this weekend was insane on HF. I ended up with 142 SSB POTA contacts, on all bands from 40 meters to 10 meters. It was so much fun! The colors are listed in the image's ALT text. I think I need a vacation after all that!

Wow, the solar storm really made things difficult this weekend. Only manages a few contacts, but it was still fun!

Went 'up the hill' this morning for another #POTA activation. What I didn't know was that a huge magnetic storm was going on. When I realized it I decided to do #FT8 only.
The outcome was 45 QSO on #40m and #15m, with Sri Lanka as #atno.

Spring is coming, 7 °C and partly overcast this morning. Some birds accompanied me but unfortunately I don't know what species they were. -
Today's #POTA activation started with sunny 3° C and ended up at 10° C while upcoming strong winds made it feel chilly the whole time.
102 QSO mainly on #40m, data modes first and then #SSB. Several times I had first phone contacts with hams who had worked me quite often with #FT8. It was a pleasure to talk to you, thanks hunters! -

Rainy but mostly dry were the weather conditions this morning during my short #POTA activation. What I didn't expect before was I'd manage to work every continent except for Antarctica!
Europe, North America and South America on #40m. Asia, Africa and Oceania on #15m. Nigeria as an #atno . New Zealand as furthest distant. 27 QSO.

Spending this weekend working the new EFHW antenna, I got 96 POTA contacts across 10, 12, 17, 20 and 40 meters! All SSB, no digital! I am beyond happy with how it performs, and it even managed to get my last 2 states needed for hunting all 50 states in POTA!

Well, it was such a nice day yesterday that I decided to put up the new EFHW antenna! Took a couple hours to get it in place and get it tuned up. It definitely works much better than I was expecting!
Managed to get the tune so I don't need to use any tuner at all on all bands that it supports! Everything is under 2:1 SWR and some are even nearly 1:1 which I really didn't expect!
The markers are color coded for the bands that I got contacts on. Green ones for 40 meters, orange ones for 30 meters, blue for 20 meters, cyan for 15 meters, and yellow for 10 meters!
I can definitely recommend this antenna ( myantennas.com EFHW ) without question.

Foggy but not really cold (8° C) were the #wx conditions today for another #POTA activation. #40m early this morning allowed some grey line DX to Brazil and Trinidad & Tobago. Also I could work the J51A DXpedition in Guinea-Bissau. Another #ATNO is Sint Maarten. #15m and #20m were also worked. In the end 111 QSO were in the log.

Just before Christmas another #POTA activation of DE-0192. WX was 2° C and a cold wind. 56 QSO in #40m and #15m, data and SSB.
I just had decided to stop and was preparing #QRT when several VK stations called me and then Uruguay and then Benin...
It was worth going the extra mile!

#SOTA OE/TI-527 Unterberghorn is easily accessible by funicular. It’s about an hour’s walk from the top station to the summit (300 vertical meters). We took the walk down, but I can’t recommend that since it is mostly in the woods and the views are not that spectacular. After arriving at the hotel I thought it was time for a small activation: #SOTA DL/CG-110 Walmberg is the closest summit to our location. The ascent has some nice views over Reit im Winkl and despite the trees on the summit there was plenty of space to put up the #EFHW. 33 QSOs on #40m and #20m in 28 minutes - now a quick shower and off to the restaurant with my wife! #HamRadio #SummitsOnTheAir #Amateurfunk #qrp #mtr3b #morsecode #hiking #mountains #chiemgau #bavaria

I’m currently testing a new #EFHW for #40m, #20m, #15m and #10m. On some #SOTA summits there is not enough space to put up a full 20 m long antenna. So I have designed this one which is like a linked #EFHW, but you’re able to remove the outer half and get an antenna of just about 10 m length (for the #20m and #10m bands). #HamRadio #SummitsOnTheAir #ParksOnTheAir #Amateurfunk #mtr3b #morsecode #hiking #mountains
