The thing about living on #CapeCod is that people think you're quaint and provincial and insular because you don't want to drive over the Sagamore or Bourne Bridges to get to the rest of Mass and New England.
It's not that at all. It's because we know they're fucking obsolete deathtraps. Because almost every week there's news about rollovers or head-on collisions, and we simply don't want to risk our lives to go shopping or visit folks.

I've noticed a #linguistic oddity that bugs me, mostly since I'm seeing it in ads, not hearing it used by real people.
In my dialect, "shop" can be a noun, a place where you can buy things. It can also be an intransitive verb, i.e. one that takes no direct object.
"What are you doing?" "Shopping"
If you want to buy a particular thing, you're shopping FOR it, not shopping it, because shop doesn't take a direct object.
But I'm seeing ads urging me to "shop" various products. Incoherent.

Onslaught Arena
Eccoci con un nuovo appuntamento per questi giochi estivi. Come già spiegato, quest’estate abbiamo deciso di pubblicare solamente giochi eseguibili all’interno di browser. Non tutti però, sfortunatamente, funzionano anche su smartphone! Onslaught Arena è infatti molto carino ma nella versione che abbiamo trovato purtroppo funziona solamente su desktop!
Il gioco è comunque simpatico e vi farà perdere un po’ di tempo, ne siamo sicuri. Iniziamo con il dirvi che ci troviamo davanti ad un cosiddetto endless game, cioè a un gioco senza una vera e propria fine. Lo scopo di Onslaught Arena è infatti quello di sopravvivere all’interno di un’arena per il più lungo tempo possibile.

Ogni ondata sarà peggiore della precedente ma, fortunatamente, hai dalla tua numerose armi mortali: spade, pugnali, lance, asce da battaglia e persino palle di fuoco! Per ottenerle dovrai sconfiggere i mostri e sperare che ti lascino qualche regalo da poter utilizzare nell’arena.
Se riuscirai a vivere abbastanza a lungo guadagnerai il diritto di sfidare alcuni dei mostri più temibili in circolazione: il drago malvagio e il minaccioso Beholder!
Gioca onlineAnche questo, come gli ultimi pubblicati, pur essendo un gioco abbastanza vecchio è rimasto divertente nel tempo e riuscirà a farci passare qualche minuto (se non qualche ora!) in questa calda estate.
