@urlyman @arichtman @jaffathecake No, #AVIF is not progressively decoded, losslessly re-encodable with #JPEG, nor supporting splices like #JPEG_XL - see #svg2jxl: https://www.reddit.com/r/jpegxl/comments/u8kse2/svg_to_jpeg_xl/
-
@brucelawson What's the point? #JPEG_XL support is the no. 1 issue every year, yet sadly not included in any #interop: https://github.com/web-platform-tests/interop/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+sort%3Areactions-%2B1-desc

@slightlyoff @zachleat They made it so fancy that the #etch blog, which should be a static web page, is broken in #SailfishOS web browser. Bummer 😞

-
@firefly Does it use #Wasm3 under the hood like this console? https://x.com/vshymanskyy/status/1345048053041029121

@themagpi Once I've made a chess game for #Badger2040 based on #RP2040: https://github.com/niutech/chess-badger2040 ♟ and a Dino game too: https://github.com/niutech/dino-badger2040 🦖

@tomayac Why would anybody compile #JS to #WASM when there is #AssemblyScript? There are also JS runtimes in WASM: @boa_engine, Javy, Dukweb and QuickJS-emscripten.
-
-
@smach It would be better to use an in-browser #LLM using #webLLM, #Transformers.js, #MediaPipe or window.ai rather than to send your data to #OpenAI.
-
@mcc @gordoooo_z Check out #Chawan browser, which supports some #HTML5/CSS/JS: https://sr.ht/~bptato/chawan/
-
@zkat You don't need JS at all, see my pure #HTML/CSS demo of #PHOOOS technique: https://kodus.pl optionally with #HTMZ: https://leanrada.com/htmz/
-
@tomayac Great article! Two questions:
1. How does #MediaPipe for #web compare with #ONNX Runtime Web and #WebLLM?
2. When will it be possible to run Phi-3.5 (not Phi-2) on MediaPipe? https://github.com/google-ai-edge/mediapipe/issues/5357 -
@RL_Dane @pkw @sotolf @mirabilos
Also worth mentioning:
- #chawan (https://sr.ht/~bptato/chawan/)
- #carbonyl (https://github.com/fathyb/carbonyl)
- #elinks (http://elinks.or.cz/) -
@Una @argyleink Awesome! We no longer need #CSS Custom Highlight API nor #PrismJS nor #HighlightJS for syntax highlighting thanks to @gdc!
-
@tyamadon501 @freedosproject #fabGL can run many OS-es out of the box, including #FreeDOS, MS-DOS, #SvarDOS, CP/M, #GEOS, #Linux ELKS and even #Windows 3.0! https://github.com/fdivitto/FabGL/blob/master/examples/VGA/PCEmulator/mconf.h#L84-L96
-
@leaverou There is also #ChromeOS fork #FydeOS: https://fydeos.io and #OpenFyde: https://openfyde.io, which could possibly keep existing Gentoo Linux kernel.
-
@aral #HTMX is bloated, try 166-byte #HTMZ: https://leanrada.com/htmz/ included in my #PHOOOS demo: https://kodus.pl
-
@sandropennisi #WebOS is still alive as #LuneOS, which has recently published a stable release: https://liliputing.com/open-source-webos-port-luneos-eiskaffee-is-the-first-stable-release-in-five-years/
As for competition for Android/iOS, there are: @ubports,
@mobian, @postmarketOS, @phosh, @kde @plasmamobile and #SailfishOS. -
@meduz @owa Or just use one of online #iOS testing services like #BrowserStack, #SauceLabs, #BitBar or #AWS Device Farm?
