Given the story told in the film GREEN BORDER, I shudder at the ramifications of this news 🤷♂️

@nafnlaus @JungleGeorge24 There were two *actual* founders of #Tesla , as the @Wikipedia page makes clear.
The prototype ‘Roadster’ vehicle was developed before #ElmoMush became an *investor*. These facts, and the lawsuit settlement where Elmo was included as ‘1 of 5 founders’ are all in the link provided. Here it is again ⬇️, in case anyone aside from Elmo is ‘butt-hurt’. 🤷🏻♂️

@nafnlaus I think we are both in UK from @dantarian post I suspect we are still in the early stages with standards really still in flux I think that there has been a new version of #CCS proposed that will have #VehicleToGrid capabilities but don't know if it will be backward compatible, but i do think it will be needed as part of Grid stability for us to to fully transition to renewables though at the rate Teslas are being churned out I could see #NACS as new standard I have Betamax/VHS vibs

Damn, these photos are amazing, with three awesome elements rarely photographed together! A volcanic eruption, the Northern Lights, and, a lighthouse. Def a prize-winner imo. Only in #Iceland - #photo #photography #PhotographyIsArt #Volcano #IcelandVolcano #NorthernLights

Unblocking Hormuz requires not military escorts, but a radical hermeneutic shift in how we interpret the meaning of a dry gas pump. #CriticalGeography

Today I learned: that Gary Black has gone bearish on $TSLA finance.yahoo.com/news/teslas-... (Long-time $TSLA bull and - at least was - a very well respected person in the Tesla community. He was the first "major Wall Street person" to jump on the $TSLA train. Looks like he's hopped off it.)

"Do you have any idea how fast you were flowing?"
"Sir, your vehicle is emitting an excessive amount of smoke. And rock. And fire."
"Turn off the engine, please. The big, fiery one in the mountain."
"Could you pop the hood for me?
...On second thought, please, absolutely do NOT pop the hood.""Your vehicle is not up to code. Specifically, any code. For anything. Ever."

“That was photoshopped? Terry, you can’t do that. They’ve given you the big break of a lifetime. But you’re not being very nice. He had 'MS-13' tattooed. Terry. Terry. Do you want me to show you the picture?” #RealPicture #NotPhotoshopped

@Timmy While there's lots of #nickel out there, the rate of scaling up battery-grade nickel production is believed to be slower than the capability to scale up #LFP production, hence the expected shift to LFP in the coming years.
So we've now covered the #anode and #cathode. The next greatest bulk comes from the casing (#steel) and the #electrolyte (mainly organic carbonates - a #petrochemical product). After this comes the #alumium and #copper current collector foils, then the...

@Timmy (2) #cobalt is already used in a wide variety of things, even #oil refining itself.
#Nickel is the bulk of the long-range #cathode.s, and indeed, its limiting mineral. Most of it today goes towards making #StainlessSteel, where it's a major alloying agent (alongside #chromium). Globally, #Indonesia is the biggest producer; in #NorthAmerica, #Canada is the biggest, thanks to the #Sudbury bolide deposit. #Australia has the largest resources.

@Timmy Of course, pointing out that #liion #batteries are only 1-3% #lithium automatically raises the question, "Okay, then what are they made out of?" And there's two major groupings at present. Shorter-range #EVs tend to use #LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) while longer-range EVs tend to use #NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) or #NCA (Nickel Cobalt Alumium). These terms describe the #cathode - the anode in each case is #graphite (either natural or synthetic)
