  1. 2nd hacked sound book is ready! Since last post I lost all files, deleted by mistake 😭
I was very close to definitly stop the project, but changed my mind because it's been years I was dreaming about such hacked book. So back to CAD design and arduino code to start again from scratch!

I'll spend a few more days on the tutorial and online repo, then I'll probably have a break with this time consuming project 😅

  3. 🥳 yeah, it works great!

Next steps: the lid, a video, a tutorial, and to finish all files and codes available on a repo online!

  4. And the circuit prototype is now working perfectly to play sounds/music when the buttons on the book are pressed.

Using Wago connectors is great for this kind of project!

    Here are the main parts:
    - Xiao ESP32C3
    - MP3 mini dfplayer
    - Wago connectors
    - Speaker (added later)
    - LiPo battery (added later)

  5. 💡 Here's a trick I use for my electronic prototypes, and especially with my **hacked sound book** project : I use Wago connectors.

And it works with almost everything:
    - jumper wires
    - components with legs (like LED and resistors)
    - even with flexible printed circuits (see next post)

  6. Look at these cute little 3d printed holders for electronic modules (xiao ESP32C3, MP3 mini dfplayer, LiPo battery and speaker)! Made with @FreeCAD :freecad:

✅ The CAD part of the **hacked sound book** project is now done.

  7. After measuring the thickness of the last page of the book, I created a computer-aided design (box + lid) with OpenSCAD to replace it. Now it is parametric, easy to open, easy to use with electronics modules, and ready to be 3D printed !

  8. Let's hack this sound book! 🛠️🎼

  10. Hey resin 3D printing enthusiasts, I have a question for you ! I am trying to print with a clear resin, but it looks like the resin polymerizes between some supports and some features of my models. Any advice or help ?

I am using a Phrozen Sonic Mighty 4k, with eSun PMMA-like resin from eSun. The XP finder and RP tester look good.

  11. T-maze done! Designed with FreeCAD, laser cut in plywood, everything is ready!
Github repository of the parametric t-maze CAD files is available here : github.com/mathiaslec/simple_p
