Finally got around to playing with a relatively recent tool addition to my local makerspace. It’s an OMTech 30W MOPA fiber laser. I’m in love 😍

Not a huge learning curve, software wise, since I’m very familiar with using Lightburn with a CO2 laser. Just having to learn what the new parameters like frequency and Q-pulse, among others, do. We have a nice material library so I have good starting points to play with. Not to mention all the how to videos I watched in preparation. 😂

Managed to engrave and cut out the makerspace logo from 24ga (0.5mm) brass sheet. It’s small at about 15x15mm. It’s going to be inlaid into wood for another project. #Makerspace #Lasercut

Had a fun day yesterday delivering my last workshop of the year. Good turnout with everyone #soldering up a custom #lasercut #reindeer #Xmas decoration!

Okay, as I get these finished it's time to run side by sides against the design.
The tip of the steam got a bit ragged on some pieces, otherwise I think this one works well. It ends at a 0.16 mm round, I'll step it up to 0.3 and that should save some grief.
