  1. ALWAYS wash your lettuce folks, even if it comes in a container claiming to be "pre-washed", for there is no guarantee nor any easy way for you to know if it was washed in uncontaminated water.
Take the minute required to do it yourself with water you're sure is safe and so keep yourself and your family from stomach upset or worse.

  2. One of the strangest thefts I've seen reported on 529 Garage... I've got questions!

  3. I am fucking heartbroken and furious by this continued slaughter of our citizens who are just trying to get to work/school/stores via bike and the lack of justice for them.
It's always the same fucking story "no charges have been made". For fucks sake, someone is dead and someone in the chain of actions clearly did something wrong for that person to be dead.

  4. I grew up on Long Island very close to Bethpage State Park, where I played many rounds of golf in my youth.
Every time I return to visit family I observe incivility now permeates across many aspects of life there; during driving, riding the train, waiting in line for something, in the dog park, etc.
And sure enough, I've also observed the massive rise of MAGA support there, which correlates with the descent into this barbaric behavior.
I'm very thankful to be living somewhere where people still treat each other decently.

  5. For all those bicyclist voters in attached find a useful graphic from Cambridge Bike Safety regarding the candidate's support of safe streets.
Remember, in ranked choice voting it's important to NOT rank any candidate whom you would NOT want to see voted in.

  7. Can someone explain to me why speaker arrays commonly used at concerts generally produce such terrible sound quality?
I'm at sitting almost directly next to the sound booth tent listening to Dry Cleaning and Florence Shaw's vocals are completely unintelligible. I'm certain that her diction is just fine, it's the distortion and mixing (too much bass, etc) which is making the lyrics unintelligible.
I've been to many concerts over the last 10 years and have noticed there is rarely good sound quality and when there is it's quite startling given my low expectations.
Why is this shitty sound quality seemingly the standard? Is there no better alternative? Perhaps it's doable but too expensive? Or is it just inept sound engineering?

  8. I'm amazed they didn't figure out some way to make this the cyclist's fault as seems to be the standard police response these days. I suppose the drunk driving was just too much to ignore.

  9. Per TN Governor, a group of auto workers somehow make a "mistake" in a landslide vote to unionize!
    Hilarious headline of the day...

  10. Honestly, you could take by storm with competent playing and mediocre songwriting abilities if you just stopped trying to sound like every other damned country artist you worship.

  11. This article is spot on. risks fading into a has been American city if our city and state leaders can't get their act together to provide the leadership and funding the desperately needs.

  12. Just as the influence of has destroyed other company's technical capability as we're witnessing today with 's inability to securely operate its infrastructure, so too will these jackasses destroy and if they're allowed to take over.
Hopefully has the wherewithal to defend against their pernicious influence.
