May is Bicycle month!
This free (for this month) online ebike safety course might interest some riders here, or someone you know!
Edit: it seems that this course is for the USA, but apparently the workaround is to just put in any American address. Like a McDonald's or anything. That'll let you then participate.
"The course is about 90 minutes, but you can pause at any time and pick up where you left off. Once completed, you’ll earn a certificate to show you’re ready for the road."

New this year, we are also hosting a #WalkOfSilence to honor the disproportionate number of pedestrians who were killed by traffic violence in the past year."

"Across Maine, local bike/ped committees, planning commissions, non-profits, and volunteers are working hard to improve safe, enjoyable, and practical active and #AlternateTransportation options. But we aren’t always talking to one another!
In these virtual monthly meetings, we hope we can learn from each other’s successes and challenges, get advice, and share resources in a casual setting – a forum for those already active in the bike/ped world, as well as for those who are curious about the current work being done or who want to start their own local conversations.
Meetings recur every third Monday of the month at 4 PM via Zoom (Link below). Meetings will be ~45 minutes and will consist of introductions, share outs, and time for questions! I’ll be there to facilitate and help connect folks with resources."

Came 🤏 close to being obliterated by a Ute driver on Dynon road today. The driver decided to run a red light while I was cycling.
He saw me, didn’t even brake, and forged on.
Thankfully I head checked and did some evasive action to avoid it. He didn’t even stop.

Thoughts about Ireland and bikes:
We didn’t see a great, comprehensive cycling infrastructure across the country, or even in the big cities. Nonetheless there are a lot of folks on bikes and there are some great cycling sections to be found. Many of which cities like #Denver could emulate to good effect.
