Roll credits on Unicorn Overlord! Overall I thought it was pretty great, although it did get a little “samey” at times.

Characters were mostly well voice acted and great. Art style was fantastic and it’s an absolutely gorgeous game.

Takes itself pretty seriously, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it did get a bit “heavy” from time to time.

Overall I enjoyed it and I’m glad I took the time to experience it!

#Vanillaware’s previous game, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, felt like an absurd auteur gamble where every bet hit a jackpot. Unicorn Overlord feels like what happens when only some of those risky choices pay off.

The biggest success for me is the tactical combat, which is really in a league of its own. It takes some inspiration from Fire Emblem in the way that calculus takes “some inspiration” from algebra.

Gaming question of the day~ what’s some good #PS5 #CityBuilding games? I’m a big fan of #Tropico6, but don’t know if there are other good games on the platform.

I thought I was going to finish #UnicornOverlord early this morning, but I got caught unawares by the “oh you thought THAT was the final boss, no THIS is the final boss” battle and got wiped out. I’ll revert to one of my saves this weekend and try again.
