I find I still use "tweeps". For me, the word has transcended its origins.

As for alternatives, by analogy, "meeps" or "feeps". But I've seen no formal proposals.

#twitter traffic / engagement definitely down sharply recently.

don't have similar data for #mastodon but had better, more varied interactions in the #fediverse over same timeframe.

don't want to abandon my loyal #tweeps but we could be counting down the end of my twitter time.

This is the easiest way to find your #tweeps on mastodon.

Now to find one for #Facebook. Then I will only need one app!

I'd like to suggest something to allthe #tweeps who have migrated to macaw.social ... While this is a hard time for many of you, there is something that might give you a sense of purpose: helping out with the many #fediverse projects that are constantly under-staffed.

This goes for developers, infrastructure people, UX/UI designers, etc. There are so many projects (Mastodon, PeerTube, PixelFed, Lemmy, and many more) that could use your help.
