Zocht ik vandaag eens naar een Google vervanging. Zoiets als NextCloud. Denk ik ook eens aan Nederlandse bedrijven. Kom ik uit bij een #procolix of een #thegoodcloud. Gelijk maar hun tabbladen weer gesloten. Bij een vind je wel een prijs, de ander houdt hem geheim om je contactgegevens te farmen. Elk bedrijf dat niet transparant prijzen wil communiceren op z’n site, is per definitie schimmig. Daar zit ik wellicht heel zwart/wit in, maar dit soort Microsoft marketing praktijken zijn niet ok.
Wederom teleurgesteld door de #nederlandsecloud #Nederland #cloud
Ik ben bang dat het toch weer verder zoeken wordt in Europa. Volgende stop, Hetzner of AWS EUSC. -

Seems it *might* have been the @mullvadnet browser or my settings - but the @thegoodcloud team got me all sorted yesterday. Thank you! 🙌🏼

Does anyone know, is @thegoodcloud okay? I haven't seen recent updates here (since August) or on their blog (since July), and the password re-set function doesn't appear to be working for me.

If I copy to google drive from my computer it takes ages. If I copy to theGood.cloud https://thegood.cloud/ (which runs on nextcloud) the copy is essentially instant. #googledrive #thegoodcloud #cloudstorage

The energy consumption of servers have been problematic for some time now.
Our buddies at #Leafcloud are showing us how they use the thermal energy generated by their servers, to provide heat to everything from swimming-pools to large residential complexes. Using this energy as a resource rather than wasting it.
