  1. A quotation from Tanith Lee

    Never respect years, only deeds.

    Tanith Lee (1947–2015) British author
Drinking Sapphire Wine, Part 3, ch. 6 [Narrator] (1977

  6. Reprint of the 2009 Wildside Press anthology, Tempting the Gods: The Stories of Tanith Lee, volume one. The ebook and softcover are reasonably priced, and even includes a soundtrack! If you’re new to the spellbinding wonder of Tanith Lee’s writing, this is a great place to start.

  7. Treating me to some Tanith Lee short story collections. I've not read enough of her writing, but hugely enjoyed those books I read. I also very much enjoyed her two Blake's 7 TV episodes. Her writing is so richly imaginative. I'm looking forward to diving into these short story collections. #Books #Bookstodon #Fantasy #TanithLee #Blakes7

  8. “There are authors who stick to what they know, carving out careful niches for themselves. And then there are the ones who obliterate boundaries.

Tanith Lee was in the second camp (…) But with such a vast body of work, where do you begin?”

  9. Even though some concept are close, the Sandman’s story is really different from the one in Tales from the Flat Earth. Legitimate anger about Gaiman’s abuses doesn’t really substantiate a plagiarism assertion in this case.

But if it’s the occasion to emphasize a wonderful book series by a great author who did struggle at the end of her career, it’s great ! I recommend these books wholeheartedly !

  10. @herhandsmyhands Thanks for the info.

As a long reader of Gaiman's work, since the early 1990s, i never heard of that relation between #TanithLee work and The Sandman.

    Shame on me.

I will read Tales from the flat Earth.

  11. Ok, so now I read that Gaiman has been plagiarizing Tanith Lee.

I remember reading something by Tanith Lee when I was a kid, but it was most likely a French translation, and fuck me if I remember the title.

  12. NARROW WAY (1984)
    Acrylic on Canvas - 30" x 20"

The greatest measure of my satisfaction as an illustrator comes when I produce an artwork that reflects my artistic concerns just as much as it illustrates the book. This painting is one of the best examples of that happy condition. 1/4

  13. RED AS BLOOD (1982)
    Acrylic on Watercolor Board - 30" x 22"

I have fond memories of the cover art for Tanith Lee's novel RED AS BLOOD simply because the act of creation was so enjoyable. I still regret selling the painting. 1/3

  15. Anyone read any #tanithlee? I really enjoy it and the range of styles she wrote in. #books #essentialdreamspress is putting together an anthology of her work. Look for a kickstarter soon!

  16. I wrote some thoughts about Tanith Lee's great short story "The Gorgon", about narcissistic male fantasies, and the intersections of myth and meaning:

  17. DELIRIUM'S MISTRESS (1985)
    Acrylic on Watercolor Board - 30" x 22"

Tanith Lee is such a visual writer of fantasy that she gives an artist an inspiring painting concept on nearly every page. She offers an inexhaustible supply of fascinating ideas. 1/3

  18. NIGHT'S DAUGHTER (1986)
    Acrylic on Watercolor Board - 36" x 24"

If I don't take the time to keep notes during the creation of a painting, I often forget the meaning of symbolism in it. 1/4
