I used to live in #Stromness; great to see the X1 commuter bus enter the Seat61 hall of fame.
Things you might mention:
• the no.7 bus does a fantastic tour of West Mainland, linking Stromness and Kirkwall via a properly scenic route, if the windows aren't all misted up.
• southbound from #Orkney, the Aberdeen boat connects easily with LNER's 0952 London train. You can stay on ship after arrival for a leisurely breakfast. Even the 0752 is usually safe. -

Stromness Museum has received two grants from AIM to work with the conservator Hana Bristow to rehouse and preserve their seaweed collection, part of which is now on display.
