  1. A very beautiful but extremely windy place to photograph... All looks calm in the photo, but had to battle hard against the black sand constantly blasting us... It gave my whole face a good exfoliation though 🙂

    I was suddenly hit hard by a king wave on the shoreline while photographing the ocean here and nearly dragged out to sea but fortunately was rescued by a very fit fellow male photographer who literally saved my life and dragged me back to shore. The force of the extremely strong Atlantic Ocean currents.

    "The mountain at #Vestrahorn aka #Stokksnes is one of Iceland’s few Gabbro rock mountains. Dating back 8-11million years, the site was used by the first settlers (Irish) before they were enslaved by Viking invaders (c.860).

    As a gesture of goodwill to the Nation of Ireland, it has been suggested that the land be given back to the Irish, but as a National Park where visitors are free to roam as nature intended."
