  1. I've started to pull together my night sky images from 2026, mostly Aurora but, who knows what we might see? (Apart from sodding satellites) 😡 #nightskyphotography #auroraborealis #aurorainscotland @glass

  2. Beams

This photo has been horribly overworked, I admit it, but there is method in my madness.

This was taken looking almost directly upwards from below a KP7 auroral display. It was quite cloudy but the aurora was so bright that it cast a shadow at my feet.

When I first processed the image, I didn't think there was much of interest in it. More editing revealed these fabulous green beams, seeming to disappear into infinity.

  7. Well, i experienced some issues and I was not able to check into my flight back home. But I like to think that it was fate forcing this to happen so that I got to experience one of my greatest dreams.

It was subtle to the naked eyes, but visible enough to notice it from my hotel window and to push me outside despite starting to develop a cold

  11. Aurora Borealis: Rare red and pink lights seen across Europe from Ireland to Austria.

From Tuesday night into early Wednesday, a powerful G4 geomagnetic storm made the Aurora Borealis visible far beyond its usual range.

Skywatchers across Europe, from Ireland and the UK to Poland and Austria, caught rare glimpses of the northern lights.
