  1. Time for someone else's vacation slides! ;)

My photos from the first half of our summer vacation are up on Flickr, covering our time in Port Angeles and the surrounding area.

  2. Getting caught up on editing photos from a trip to Sequim at the end of July.  That part of the Olympic Peninsula is a very productive lavender region, and many farms large & small are open to the public during the summer.  Needless to say it's a pretty popular destination for photographers at the height of the growing season.

This also makes it very popular with your friendly neighborhood pollinators.  When you're standing in the middle of the fields, and all other noises die down, you're left with the pleasant drone of thousands upon thousands of bees.

Also, a reminder: I'll be at Kenmore Camera this evening from 5:30 to 6:30 for the artists reception and awards ceremony of the Kenmore Art Show.  Hope to see you there!

  4. Sign on the side of the road on US Hwy 101 entering Sequim, Washington. The local herd of Roosevelt Elk are fitted with radio collars that activate the flashing lights warning motorists that the Elk are nearby and could cross the highway.
