Tipp des Augenoptikers, von dem meine Brillen sind, Pumpfläschchen Wasser und etwas Spüli und ein altes, sauberes Baumwolltaschentuch.
Und, meine Erfahrung, Taschentücher nicht mit Weichspüler waschen, denn dann #schlieren. -

Irgendwas ist los in #Schlieren. Auf einmal zehn Sirenen vorbeifahren gehört, und jetzt auch immer mal wieder eine. Man wirds wohl morgen in der Zeitung lesen.

Another Bochum #sunset, on April 24: four pictures covering just two seconds in which a separated #GreenSegment is forming and vanishing while weird #schlieren features dominate the disk - I still haven't identified the source but it must be very far away (in another shot distant birds in front of the 'boiling' Sun are sharp). Out of cam and just cropped - the obstruction on the right is a distant house.

An #ÖBB 🇦🇹 Class 2143 diesel and #Schlieren carriages on a #Vienna bound train: a picture taken in 1991 at #Gmünd station. This is the #Waldviertel 🇦🇹 area, Austria’s very North. That section of the so-called Franz-Josefs-Railway wasn’t electrified yet, hence the diesel engine working this service.

An oblique shock is a shock wave that, unlike a normal shock, is inclined with respect to the direction of incoming air. It occurs when a supersonic flow encounters a corner that effectively turns the flow into itself and compresses. This photograph shows an oblique shock at the nose of a Northrop T-38 Talon aircraft, made visible through Schlieren photography.
