I love to play text based roleplay games. Mainly Play by Post via "oldschool" forums.

So I wonder, is it strange to mainly roleplay female characters?
I mean, the argument of videogames "I don't like to look at a male arses all the time" doesn't apply here.

Can't really explain why I like to play female characters more than male ones. But I guess it's because I'm already playing a male character in real life all the time?

Storium is a website based pbp system I played in for a few years. Heavy on improv and rules lite, but I quite liked it. I eventually stopped playing because of what I have found is always the problem with pbp games, they die a slow death of neglect and delay.

When I realized that *I* was one of the people who wasn't keeping my part up, I dropped out.

It was free at the basic level, but subscription for extra cool features.

I've been running a #playbypost #DND #TTRPG for about a year now over #Discord. Here's a few #tips for others thinking of doing the same:

* Give the players a channel to themselves, that you don't read. Let them talk about things amongst themselves and strategize without your watchful eye interfering. They've come up with some crazy shit, which I love.

* Sync and async aren't rules, they're conventions. Sometimes async becomes sync. Roll with it, but don't leave people out too long. (1/2)

I've been running an AD&D play-by-post game for fourteen years. First on Google Wave, then Rizzoma (an RU Google Wave fork), now on Discord.

I've seen (irl) players families form, kids grow up, players' careers advance and change.

Today was a hard day, as I had to ask an obvious question after the game hit a climax of a many year arc - do you want to continue?

I'm honestly nervous/anxious of either answer.

Currently running a game of Mörk Börg for my old gaming friends.
The party has gone through Rot Black Sludge and so far suffered only a casualty and lost a Scroll.
We are playing by posts via Discord, and I have to say asynchronous play is great.
I vastly prefer it to videocall gaming, so far.
First of all, it allows for different schedules, and second, the relaxed pace is great for the GM.
