  1. I think I may have said this before, but I state here formally that I will not comply with the #EHRC guidance in any context, and I invite them or #Starmer or #Burnham or #Phillipson to bring a case against me personally at their convenience.

  6. @kathimmel @JugglingWithEggs

I don't know that I feel more violated having their literature than, say, #Starmer or #Phillipson or #Streeting or #Sarwar spreading lies about trans people whenever I turn on the radio or fire up the computer. But YMMMV.

A point to consider, though, is that the current rules on access to the electoral register allow parties not funded by tech bros and financial services to function on a bit of level playing field, e.g. (where canvassing is concerned).

  11. @GeofCox I share @benofbrown's caution.

#BridgetPhillipson's track record on #trans rights is atrocious. If #Phillipson wanted to support trans people, the simple remedy would be to pass a one-sentence amendment to the #EA2010 making a GRC define sex in the EA as it does elsewhere. The #UKSC ruling in #FWS would be redundant.

This intervention marks a useful but small retreat from the #EHRC's extremist #transExclusion agenda. Phillipson just wants to crap on us less crudely.

  16. Yesterday, #UK Equalities Minister #BridgetPhillipson issued a sharp public rebuke to #EHRC chair #KrisherFalkner's aggression. theguardian.com/society/2025/n

It seems that govt-EHRC relations have almost broken down. I don't want to read too much into this. I believe that the #Starmer crew still intends to sacrifice #trans people to the rightwing lynch mobs.

But there is now some small hope that #Phillipson may draw back slightly from the most exteremist #TERF demands. But this may just be optics 🤔

  17. <Breathes a small sigh of relief> that #LucyPowell not #TERF #Phillipson was chosen by #Labour members... Makes me hope that #transphobic #Starmer might be coming to the end of his leadership.

Let's hope Powell sticks to her word to demand a parliamentary debate on single sex spaces...

    ...but maybe I'm too hopeful?

  18. @grayface_ghost

I can see #Starmer throwing #Phillipson and #Falkner under the bus and trying to walk it back a little, claiming he was nisinformed. It might be the least embarassing move. But then again he does have the political instincts of a wombat.

  19. #Ridge to #Phillipson "Would you accept the 6.5% pay rise for teachers?"

She replies "We would see that as the starting point for negotiation."

What's the difference between this and the Tory position?
