Hey #FediHiveMind I've got a question for you...
Recently, #StephenFry has pivoted to voicing support for #trans folks - which is of course uniquivocably a #GoodThing. However, just a few years ago, he was still making TV shows with the #TERF Queen #JKR and actively platforming anti-trans rhetoric. At the same time, on #Mastodon, he was verbally abusing and blocking people who called him out for that.
At the time, while I was on another instance, I also had such an altercation with him and was blocked by him. I'm trying to find forensic or any other remaining evidence of his tantrum in the Fediverse, to use as evidence to show that, despite his recent pivot, he still does have apologies and reparations to make for his transmisic past... -
@kkarhan @fedilore yeah, that shit peaked when the #BBC pushed that #TERF garbarge and platformed a #transmisogynist|ic POS ( #LilyCade ) which is the kind of person every decent place I know will instantly and preemptively ban from their premises!
- #Shaun made a good series about that, tho don't watch it if you don't want to deal with that shit.

Columnist: I'm standing up for what I believe in! Protecting women's sport! And I'll keep standing up for it, no matter how much those snowflakes try to silence me and my right to free speech!
Citizen: That's fantastic! You know, female athletes have to put up with so much vicious misogyny and abuse, especially on social media. Some men really can be snowflakes when it comes to women's sport.
Columnist: No! I'm raising the big issue in women's sport, and I'm being /attacked/ for it!
Citizen: Really?! People are attacking you for saying female athletes deserve equal pay for equal work?
Columnist: Not that one! I'm talking about something far more serious, affecting the health and wellbeing of female athletes. And even the very integrity of women's sport itself!
Citizen: Do you mean how sports science focuses almost exclusively on male athletes, leading to women suffering anterior cruciate ligament injuries at six times the rate of men (citation: https://www.nytimes.com/2026/02/26/magazine/acl-tear-women-girl-sports.html )?
Citizen: Or do you mean how elite women's sport is routinely relegated to worse venues and TV coverage, with less sponsorship and promotion?
Columnist: No! I'm talking about protecting women's sport from the scourge of men transitioning for the sole purpose of winning at women's sport!
Citizen: Why would a professional male athlete who's not trans want to go through all the challenges and discrimination of transitioning for less pay, less TV coverage, fewer sponsorships, smaller crowds, less promotion, higher injury risk, worse venue, online abuse, and rampant misogyny, just to win at women's sport?
Columnist: Because *winning*!
Citizen: Can you give an example of where this has actually happened?
Columnist: ...
Citizen: And what do you propose to do about it?
Columnist: Totally dismantle democracy, install a totalitarian dictatorship, arrest or kill anyone who disagrees with said despot, and deport ethnic minorities en masse. Also we'll use it to justify rolling back all healthcare and civil rights to trans people, establishing that human rights exist at the arbitrary will of our overload, which the despot will use arbitrarily against all women and any other individuals or groups he disagrees with.
Citizen: That seems a bit... extreme.
Columnist: It's all to protect women's sport.
Citizen: And what will you do about the other issues I raised?
Columnist: Well, if any of them, such as research into sports medicine for women or facilities for women's sport, require public funding, then we'll cut the funding and give the money back to rich supporters of our despot as a tax cut.
Citizen: I see. Say, just out of curiosity, who do you think will win the grand final in the AFLW this year?
Columnist: I honestly don't care. I'm not into women's sport, sorry.

As usual, Areej appears to have gotten a masto account and is mass reporting me.
That's fine. I'm not sure why posting Areej's OWN words and their OWN videos is so bad?
I'm absolutely NOT asking or telling anyone to interact in anyway with Areej.
Quite the opposite, if you value your time sanity and ability to do mutual aid you likely would be best served by staying FAR away from Areej/Sky.
They are known to assault and harass trans people and then celebrate when they die.

Fuck JK Rowling. Fuck Harry Potter.
I do feel bad for decent people who fell in love with the books before it was well-known how feculent the author is, truly.
I don't have empathy for anyone directly involved in the new series, either as part of its production and distribution, or as consumer or supporter.

in today's environment they are emboldened enough to raise a stink about it
of course, a moron's idea of superficial "signs" of not being a "real" woman is a sick stupid joke
so who wins?
sadistic pinheads who want to terrorize #women, in addition to the transphobes
that is what transmisic #bigotry and fearmongering empowers

Victorian Liberals dump Moira Deeming in upper house preselection contest
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-03-29/moira-deeming-loses-preselection-victorian-liberal-party/106508394Only-moderately-RWNJ Dinesh Gourisetty has won party preselection for a place on the ballot, putting an and to Moira Deeming's dream of reelection to the Upper House. Curiously, she didn't seek nomination for the second slot on the ticket, but I'm taking her loss as a sign that members of the Liberal Party of Victoria remember the absolute maelstrom of shit that ensued last time she was active in the Liberal Party of Victoria, and decided they don't want her back. The party's apathy toward Moira Deeming may have something to do with her running a defamation lawsuit against John Pesutto, the former leader of her own party (which has not been settled fully, and she may yet use to bankrupt him), her transphobia, her horrific anti-abortion stance, and her public appearances and endorsements of TERF and neo-Nazi ideologues.

The topic of #piracy is complex
How do we reward #artists, but not predatory #media corps?
But even the most diehard anti-piracy opinions out there can get behind this:
If you must watch the new #HarryPotter adaptation, which I will not link to nor describe where it is:
#Pirate it
If you don't, you are funding a vile #TERF in #JKRowling who will use that money to harm #trans people
Everyone else can watch #SNL:

#Trans & #Intersex #History #Africa — Digital Archive
"It is important that we as #African trans, #gender diverse and intersex people speak for ourselves" — #VictorMukasa
"This statement by one of Trans & Intersex History Africa’s (TIHA) founders, Victor Mukasa, speaks to the rationale behind the TIHA digital archive, the history of trans, gender diverse and intersex movements in Africa, and the importance of archiving our histories/herstories/theirstories.
Supporting advocacy and movement building through archiving
We document events and important moments in a digital archive in the form of a visual timeline, as well as audio and video interviews as experienced and remembered by activists on the African Continent and within the #AfricanDiaspora.
As is the case worldwide, the anti-gender, conservative, #TERF (trans exclusionary radical feminist) rhetoric continues to gain strength and influences government policies, law and public sentiment, which impacts trans, gender diverse and intersex people’s lived realities and their fundamental human rights. We believe that the Trans & Intersex History in Africa (#TIHA) digital archive can contribute to the efforts of organisations, specifically those who cannot publicise their work due to threat of financial and legal consequences (which includes one of our founding partners), to ensure that trans, gender diverse and intersex existence and lived experience is recorded. This record will play a part in ensuring the collaborative strength of the African movements in combating the anti-trans, anti-gender-diverse and anti-intersex sentiment on the continent and in the African diaspora.
The TIHA digital archive acknowledges the existence of multiple movements, networks, groups and individuals and that the stories to be told are intersectional and carry various voices to form histories/herstories/theirstories. We are making a start with the information currently available but invite stories in whatever media to be submitted from across the continent and from the many places and voices not yet represented.
While we are in a continuous process of rethinking this important work, we invite you to engage with the information that the TIHA digital archive and Trans & Intersex Archival Conversations present. Get involved! Reach out! You can list your organisation/group, share your stories through the Timeline or through the Talk Show by getting in touch with us. We particularly invite first person stories and can facilitate the sharing of these in various languages."

The Wizard TERF's musical is part of the base season bundle for Broadway at the Paramount.
I won't pay for a bundle that fuels her hate speech rhetoric and actions, and am very disappointed in Seattle Theatre Group (STG) for platforming this show.

If you think #Rowling's #aphobia is somehow random or will shock her #transphobic followers enough for them to give up on her, I assure you: it's not, and it won't. Transphobia and aphobia have gone hand-in-hand for a long time now, and ace exclusionism is often the first step down the #TERF pipeline (because if you can convince people to exclude one type of #queer person, it's easier to convince them to exclude another).
-
@Pamela1960 The #EHRC is not just horribly #transphobic. It is also utterly #clueless.
Any checks based on visual and/or aural cues of gender nonconformity will catch many more #cis people than #trans people. Plenty of people warned of that, but the #TERF-controlled EHRC wouldn't listen.
No wonder even #BridgetPhillipson is running for cover.

It seems that govt-EHRC relations have almost broken down. I don't want to read too much into this. I believe that the #Starmer crew still intends to sacrifice #trans people to the rightwing lynch mobs.
But there is now some small hope that #Phillipson may draw back slightly from the most exteremist #TERF demands. But this may just be optics 🤔

CW: trans* exclusion, friendship, needs advice
Turns out a pol. left feminist friend, which I valued for her very solidarity w/ marginalised ppl, does exclude transfem* people from women. To her, they remain being men for alleged double privileges in life. I calmly disagreed to her but couldn't get into a debate.
My very first personal *terf*y experience after coming out and I just wasn't up for it, I felt completely overwhelmed. Luckily I had queer peers and compassionate allies to get to grips w/ it.
She's aware I don't identify as a woman, I'm a transfem* presenting enby. There's some trans*ness inside of me which I feel open & curious about to explore. You might imagine how on a personal level, her insolidarity with transfem*s, her reasoning, both devastated me personally and generally.
