  1. @Wen Ireland is ahead of the UK on this. Our #HSE is in such #permacrisis that in #GalwayUniversityHospital the corridors are stuffed all year round with people on trollies. Winter crisis is when they run out of trollies.

Ireland has had 25 years of the heavily-privatised medical service that the UK's #NHS is being driven towards.

  2. A challenger to goblin mode appears:
"‘Permacrisis’, a term that describes ‘an extended period of instability and insecurity’, has been named Collins Word of the Year 2022. It is one of several words Collins highlights that relate to ongoing crises the UK and the world have faced and continue to face, including political instability, the war in Ukraine, climate change, and the cost-of-living crisis."

  3. CW: Goodbye to the bird app the solutions to permacrisis are born and live here

Up late as part of my usual Sunday night can’t sleep routine and poked my head into the birds nest to see what was happening on the other side. After 5 minutes their I could feel anxiety rising I came back over here and learned a new word #Permacrisis thanks to a new follower having it in their bio.

The difference between there and here is that on the bird app people where pointing at examples of the perma crisis both personal and societal, here the issue was given a name and people are discussing hopeful potential solutions, built by communities for communities.

Tonight I’m removing the other app, I want to be around people who solve problems rather than people who just point towards how awful they are and complain.
