Three years since a panel of very knowledgeable people have presented alternatives to the madcap economic systems which are leading us to a dead planet (at least for humankind and many of its econsystems). These alternative address major areas requiring dramatic changes:

#Decarbonisation to keep our planet alive
#Equality, #education and #enpowerment for all, especially #women
#Sustainable #food production and distribution
An end to #Consumerism and #GPD measured #Growth without advocating #deGrowth

Maybe I’m an exception. Without turning this toot into a book, let me affirm right here that for this #boomer, life has been just as hard as it has been for anyone born after my generation. I’ll add that I was only able to afford my own house at the age of 72 and only with the help of close family members . Nothing has been given to me on a plate as an adult just because I grew up in the post-war years of relatively favourable redistribution of wealth — all of which, and more, has been clawed back in the last 40 yrs or so. As a parting shot, let me just say that all of our collective problems (talking about the 90% of our society) stem from the #neoliberalism which has ensured run-away inequity and the concentration of wealth in the remaining 10% — because we’ve *All* allowed it to occur (due to apathy, brain-washing, stupidity, misinformed, and/or many other faux pas) since the late 70s. All of this to say, I grow tired of all the finger pointing to a single generation for all the ills suffered by society since then. Believe me when I say, I never voted/asked for any of it.Our first step out of this mess is a simple one, *Join Your Union* and fight for what is due to us all.

I was today years old when I realised that the glass ceiling is called that because it’s invisible to *men*, not because it’s invisible to *everyone*.
I feel so silly for that penny taking a decade or two to drop for me
Footnote: Referencing men here b/c of the context in which “glass ceiling” was first coined, but obviously glass ceilings are invisible wherever there’s privilege.
