Il rage bait ha colpito anche meOrmai ho imparato a tenermi le indignazioni in tasca per usarle solo quando serve, dopo un anno e mezzo di assenza dalle piattaforme commerciali; non vale la pena rispondere indignati coi commenti perché il risultato sarebbe solo quello di stare peggio.
Ma ieri mi sono arrabbiata e a pensarci, ho ancora il muso.
Stavo ridendo di alcune burle riguardanti il famoso giornalista Germano Mosconi, morto 14 anni fa.
Gente che su YouTube, con o senza tecnologie AI, ha campionato la sua voce facendo suonare canzoni famose con le parolacce che diceva.
"Mosconian Rhapsody", Germano feat. Queen, non mi ha fatto arrabbiare pur essendo io una ammiratrice dei Queen di lunga data; ma col "Va Pensiero" di Giuseppe Verdi infarcito di bestemmie, giuro che non ci ho visto più nel vero senso della parola.
Come se avessero spruzzato di vernice indelebile i monumenti più importanti della città in cui vivo. Una sensazione bruttissima.
Ora sì che lo capisco, come si sentono quelli che si definiscono "patrioti" e rompono le palle coi crocifissi e seghe varie. Io non ho certo reazioni violente verso il tizio che ha mosconato il Va Pensiero. Non chiederei certo a YouTube di cancellarlo. Questo no, non mi metterei mai ai livelli dei "patrioti" finti di qui sopra.
Ma quella musica, quell'inno alla patria, per me è intoccabile. Come se mi avessero cagato davanti a casa.

11-3 win for Europe over America in the Mosconi Cup and it seemed like there wasn't a single match that didn't feature an American rattling the ball against a corner pocket at some point.
Deserved, fairly easy win for our lot again but it would be better for the sport if these things were closer.

Europe with an 8-3 lead heading into day three of the Mosconi (first to 11) and nice to see an even split of wins and losses today after yesterday's mauling. But for a couple of balls this could've been even closer as a scoreline.

America cannot catch a break in the Mosconi this year. I feel so bad for their team but it seems like they're overthinking everything and trying too hard not to lose when they should be playing their natural game and trying to win.

It's #MosconiCup time again and this year it's being held in Alexandra Palace. A bit of a step up from York Hall where we went to watch the annual tournament a couple of times many years ago.
Europe certainly have had the beating of America in this over the last few years but a couple of rookies compared to all veterans in Team USA might make for a closer contest.

For #ThrowbackThursday here's our visit to watch the #MosconiCup tournament at York Hall, London in 2002. It was broadcast live and our seats for this session meant we were on TV a lot as family pointed out afterwards.
In blue are two German players for Europe, Ortmann and Souquet. Near us is USA with Jones standing and the mad genius Earl Strickland seated. Michaela Tabb refereeing.
It was so hot under those lights. Great event, though.

Surprised to find the #MosconiCup still going. Switched over to it just in time to see one of the most bizarre non-pots ever. The ball went down the pocket but seemed to have so much spin on it that it spun itself back up the interior of the pocket and onto the table. Some kid's reaction in the crowd looked like it would make a great meme for "WTF!?"

Right, football over for the evening so now to catch some #Mosconi action. Fabulous to see Earl Strickland in Team USA. He's absolutely loopy but a genuine genius of the game when he's on form. We went to see the #MosconiCup years ago in London and he was incredible; didn't disappoint with both a stunning break and run the rack in about 60 seconds as well as several "interactions" with the very partisan (and drunk) crowd. Good stuff.
