Researchers found people with HIV had an 18% higher risk of a cardiovascular event.When cholesterol, blood fats and diabetes are well managed, PLWHIV and people without HIV had the same risk for cardiovascular diseases.
But people with HIV who frequently binge drink (8–10 units in 1 day) were twice as likely as to experience a heart attack, stroke or heart failure.
