I've been using #GoogleAlerts for years and just realized that each alert includes links to share the alert on #SocialMedia. But the choices are limited to #Facebook and #Twitter.

This is how to get very unique cybersecurity alerts sent to your #Gmail on the daily or however often you wish.

Step 1: Log in to your Google account.
Step 2: Visit https://www.google.com/alerts
Step 3: Create a new alert by pasting this into the search box.

+”no evidence” security compromise

Step 4: Click the blue Create Alert button
Step 5: Click the blue Show Options to customize
Step 6: Click Save

You should see a live preview of what you searched for to see the types of things that will be sent. The example I listed above singles out security compromises where the phrase 'no evidence' exists. I call this the denial alert 😄. This is a lovely place to throw some Google Dorks in!

For those moreso #tech peeps than I am, quick question. Is there a personal free alternative to #GoogleAlerts? Been trying to #DeGoogle and running into next to nothing with the alerts. There are a few ones out there for businesses looking to track their own names/#keywords on a subscription basis. Wondering if there's anything out there for those of us just looking to keep track of a couple things in our #inbox once a week or so?

Google Alerts are now completely useless. I cannot find a way to tell it that I only want to see results for the Ruby programming language, without requiring results contain the keywords "programming" and "language"; which would probably cause it to miss some results. All of the returned results are irrelevant and flagging them as irrelevant does not help. What are people using besides Google Alerts to get notifications as new relevant articles or content appears online?
