Already 3 months ago our trial ended and we were finally free from this nightmare.
Unfortunately this is not the case for the hundreds of people arrested everyday with the same charges of facilitating freedom of movement.
We have to keep fighting for all of them!

Endlich! Gestern wurde in #Trapani die Entscheidung getroffen: Es wird keine Hauptverhandlung gegen die Seenotretter*innen von @IuventaCrew, #SaveTheChildren & #MSF geben. Nach fast 2 Jahre Vorverhandlungen wird die Anklage endlich fallengelassen. Staatsanwaltschaft und der Richter räumen ein, dass die Vorwürfe haltlos sind. Solidarity wins!

7 years waiting for this case to be closed. 7 years that the Italian state is using the case against us to dissuade those standing in solidarity with people on the move. We believe that the only possible decision on 19 April is the closure of the case. But this will not be the end. We will not stop until freedom of movement will be a right for everyone and those who are murdering at Europe's borders will be held accountable.

Nebyly pro ně totiž nalezeny důkazy (a to ani přes instalaci „štěnice“ na kapitánském můstku, odposlouchávání telefonů členů*ek posádky). Definitivní rozhodnutí má soudce vynést 19. 4.

In today’s hearing, prosecution asked to drop all the charges against the iuventa-crew!
However, the judge's decision is still awaited.
This is great news for us and for the whole movement against the criminalisation of the facilitation of free movement in Europe!

That it has taken 8 years since the investigations began, 3 million euros of public money spent on persecuting people who save lives, is still a disgrace. The harm done by the state against civil society and especially against migrants cannot go unpunished.

Today we celebrate this step towards the #freeiuventa but our attention is with the thousands of migrants imprisoned on smuggling charges, and the fellow activists who have been criminalised for defending the rights of migrants at the border.
