@fairplayer If I open an artist's release page on #Faircamp, #Mirlo or #Bandcamp, there is usually textual information at the bottom of the page: liner notes, recording dates, musician names, etc. — whatever the artist chose to add.

When I look at the same release page aggregated on #Fairplayer, I just see the tracklist and nothing below it. Is there any plan to add liner notes to FairPlayer in the future?

I really want #Fairplayer to succeed so I can finally get away from using #Soundcloud for those who prefer to stream. In the long run I hope it will benefit all by allowing musicians to get properly paid for their work.

I am getting kinda fed up with streaming on #soundcloud. I get more engagement than on other platforms but little in return.

A very informative interview with @freebliss , the creator of #Faircamp , explaining why there are certain self-imposed limitations on its feature set.

I'm a proponent of connecting / federating all the independent Faircamp pages, whereas Simon seems to appreciate their ability to stand alone. He's right to adhere to that focus. Others can build the connection layer on top — like #Fairplayer — leaving Simon more time to keep Faircamp singularly good at what it does.

Researching the next home for my old releases on Bandcamp.

I follow information about #Faircamp, #Fairplayer, #Mirlo, #Subvert and #Ampwall , among other #streaming and downloaded music platforms, however my knowledge is still limited. I don't have a full understanding of how each app is differentiated from the other, or which services can work together in a federated fashion.

Would be glad for links to info which compares and contrasts all the #OpenSource and #SelfHosted options out there!

One of the Bandcamp features that I liked was at least getting some idea that there might have been some plays - so yeah a #Fairplayer UI on that would be nice.

BTW - One of the things I really like about Fairplayer is the way the tracks can be played and I can still navigate the site while listening.

I'm still interested to hear if anyone else is doing anything - like you say Fairplayer will give part of the picture, maybe not the whole picture.

@theargentgrub FWIW we started counting playback time in #Fairplayer (which you BTW joined, thanks), and we are starting to build a UI to show those to member nodes. It will only know about plays via Fairplayer of course, so that will only be a small number.
