Researching the next home for my old releases on Bandcamp.

I follow information about #Faircamp, #Fairplayer, #Mirlo, #Subvert and #Ampwall , among other #streaming and downloaded music platforms, however my knowledge is still limited. I don't have a full understanding of how each app is differentiated from the other, or which services can work together in a federated fashion.

Would be glad for links to info which compares and contrasts all the #OpenSource and #SelfHosted options out there!

J’avoue que même si une plateforme utilise une technologie basique voir totalement non sexy, me permet de diffuser mon son à des gens que je cible, j’adopte. Là où les deux sujets se rejoignent c’est que la technique, étant politique, peut même aller jusqu’à faire le job de la curation. En fait le risque de #subvert c’est que les intéressé·e·s qui y passent 30sec par curiosité se disent “jolis boutons, mais son de merde”. Tout ça *à cause* d’une structure horizontale.
Mastodon, au contraire, est crédible car sa communauté est grande, pas forcément parce que sa communauté crée des choses intéressantes. Mastodon contrairement à Subvert n’a pas comme objectif de diffuser des objets culturels. C’est là que le bas blesse, c’est là qu’une curation peut être intéressante.

Actually the Fredholm Alternative is a complex piece of mathematics but it sounds so like a 1960s-film title.....

Recorded live on hardware synths, with minimal post-processing.
