Hi there! I'm looking for a #ergodoxez or #moonlander #keyboard from #zsa to buy second hand.
If you have to much #mechanicalkeyboard I can help you to reduce by one the number. :blobcatcoffee: ;)
For the context, I started to type with #bepo and more recently with the #ergol layout on laptop. And now I want to try an #orthogonalkeyboard
Let me know if your interested, and if you know a 'second hand keyboard shop' too.

I've been using Ergodox Ez since 2017. There is one shortcut that everyone that works with code could use:
Press up (or down) key five times.
It's been a superpower ever since. I've memorized even many context menus navigations with that.

Done!!! Phew that was a process! I got the foam in buuuut I wouldn't recommend the route I went. I didn't want to have to open up my #ergodoxez so I went with individual key switch IXPE foam stickers that go between the switch and the board and it really was like playing operation 🫠

After many months of waiting, finally got my #dygmadefy and suddenly was enlightened. This is not "just a #keyboard", it's a luxury item. Probably now I will look to others like a Porsche driver. Yet, it's genuinely not for showing off, owning and using it really makes me more happy. It's all what I wished the #ergodoxez was. Never thought I'll ever understand or believe people who buy expensive cars for the "driving experience", but now, I guess, I kind of can relate.

I recently switch keyboards to an Ergodox EZ, and I am still ramping-up; I'm now at the 7th iteration of the keyboard config. It's a really powerful tool, that can feel a bit overwhelming at first; I recommend starting with the default configuration.
For example, I did not understand why some held keys did not behave as I expected. After spending some time reading the generated C code, it turns out I did not configure them properly, since I used the "tapped then held" feature, instead of simply "held". So it now works as expected!I also took the time to configure my first macro, so that I can have a key combination that sends Mic Mute shortcut , then Play/Pause ; this way I can listen to music while still being reachable by my colleagues remotely.

Finished changing the switches on my #ergoDoxEZ and I am now rocking the clicky's. Should prevent some characters being entered by an errant finger, and sounds cool to boot.
Also changed my layout to #colemakDH as that's what I'm learning. I'm still on the first 5 keys, but having the layout there should help sink it in.

Today's task:
Add my new #Gateron switches to the #ErgoDoxEZ. Got a good deal on a full set of Milky topped greens. -

I've gone full #keeb nerd and added a #trackball to my work setup. 2 x 22inch (55cm) monitors with my laptop screen as a third displaying the keymapp app from ZSA to show me where the keys are on each layer (I'm slowly learning) and now an old trackball which was sitting around in the office. I haven't used one since I was little, so I'll see how I get on with it for a week before I get my own.

I've been using #keybr since I got my #ergoDoxEZ and it's reassuring to see the progress. The cliff on the left where my speed and accuracy plummet is where I switched from a standard ergo #keyboard to the ergo. It did take some getting used to (still is) but as you can see it is climbing back to where it was.

Liked the new and improved (or old and rebranded?) Linux Dev Time podcast from @LateNightLinux family. I've sent it to my son who's been struggling the last couple of weeks in year 2 at Uni with what suspiciously sounds like #burnout.
Funny that they mentioned having an #ergoDoxEZ #keyboard and needed time to re-learn how to type. Made me feel better that I'm still struggling. Might help if I didn't try to learn #colemakDH at the same time, but... https://traffic.libsyn.com/latenightlinux/LDT87.mp3

Question for the #MechanicalKeyboard hive mind: I have a #ZSA #ErgoDoxEZ. It's wired because they believe wired is best. Maybe, but I'd like to try something I'd like to try. If I buy a Bluetooth adapter and connect it to the keyboard, would it work? I know I'd need to get a USB Mini adapter.
Anyone try it? Also, where do I go for more #keeb geekery?
