  1. Have been learning and practicing #ColemakDH #keyboard layout for the past few weeks, have learned all the letters, still making lots of mistakes. Seems more than half of mistakes were made because my fingers were having Stockholm syndrome and didn’t believe the letters could be so much within reach.

  4. Ciao,
    experts of #MechanicalKeyboards and #CustomLayout!
I need your opinions about a hack of #Colemak (actually #ColemakDH ) for Italian, to understand if my reasoning is correct.

  9. I would love if #FrameworkLaptop allowed us to customize the keyboard layout (and super key) before buying the keybord. It would be so awesome to have a #ColemakDH Framework laptop keyboard with a #linux super key!

  13. Dear #MechanicalKeyboards folks, I've decided to give up.
I've switched my #ErgoDash to #ColemakDH in mid October (see marcoxbresciani.codeberg.page/ ) but I've never been a touch-typer and it's very difficult to find even 20 minutes per day for training (see keybr.com/profile/f5vmplt ).
While working I'm slowing down everyone, waiting for me typing and doing bunch of errors.
I don't think I'll continue: I'm updating my #QMK layers to go back to #QWERTY.
20+ years of QWERTY are hard to change.

  18. I still have to update my #ErgoDash online "diary", but I took another step into the #MechanicalKeyboards rabbit hole: today I've swapped my keycaps (these: ymdkey.com/products/107-dsa-pr) to finally go with #ColemakDH (colemakmods.github.io/mod-dh/).
It's still not the default layer, and I'm not a touch-typer, but it's one click away when I turn on the PC, and it's about time to learn!
I'm sure I'll get crazy learning it, but... why not!? 😇

I would like to have your hints, ideas and guidelines on my thoughts.

The most famous layouts are English-based, but what if I want to create something based on Italian letters frequencies?

  26. I was even thinking to use #ngrams data from marcoxbresciani.codeberg.page/ but even if I have those numbers, I have no idea on how to use them to create a better #Italian-based #ColemakDH layout.

    Also, is it worth it?

    Hints? Ideas? Help!

  41. Finished changing the switches on my #ergoDoxEZ and I am now rocking the clicky's. Should prevent some characters being entered by an errant finger, and sounds cool to boot.

Also changed my layout to #colemakDH as that's what I'm learning. I'm still on the first 5 keys, but having the layout there should help sink it in.

  46. Liked the new and improved (or old and rebranded?) Linux Dev Time podcast from @LateNightLinux family. I've sent it to my son who's been struggling the last couple of weeks in year 2 at Uni with what suspiciously sounds like #burnout.

Funny that they mentioned having an #ergoDoxEZ #keyboard and needed time to re-learn how to type. Made me feel better that I'm still struggling. Might help if I didn't try to learn #colemakDH at the same time, but... traffic.libsyn.com/latenightli
