in my latest keyboard layout, I had to finally admit that q x and j weren't pulling their weight and were kicked off layer 0. z and v were given a temporary reprieve until i can learn enough qmk to shuffle some keys around.

Today I fixed a contact inside my #ZSA #Moonlander #keyboard, making it rock stable after months of issues with its right side. I thought it was a bad cable, but replacing it didn't fix it.

Then I opend it and my brother noticed that its TRRS jack had the ground pin just touching its PCB pad and so small forces on the jack could rise and disconnect it. 10 seconds of heat with a hot soldering iron fixed it.

Et sans surprise ça a tout cassé, c’est à dire que si je tape sur la touche C, j’ai un - qui s’affiche.

Il y a certainement des trucs que j’ai pas compris. C’est quoi l’astuce pour que le clavier programmable tape ce qu’on lui programme, où tourné différement, comment désactiver le mappage du système ?!?!?

C’est juste pour pouvoir l’utiliser en #ergol 😭

J’ai une question de noob concernant le paramétrage d’un clavier #zsa #moonlander pour l’utiliser avec #ergol.

J’ai pas de problème avec les lettres, j’écris en ce moment avec et c’est très sympa. Même la touche étoile/morte fonctionne bien.

Par contre je suis coincé au niveau du Alt-Gr pour accéder à la couche des symbole.

Est-ce que vous avez des conseils?

but also, chalk one up for obsessive holding-onto of previous firmwares for literally any device I ever flash; rolled back for now and the day was saved!

Ergonomically it's the best setup I've had, but not having to take my right hand of the keyboard would be neat!

My wife got me a ZXA #Moonlander keyboard for my birthday. Black, printed keycaps, cherry MX brown switches.

I'd be lying if I didn't admit I'm super excited :)

It takes time and I’m still so damn slow but I can feel a substantial improvement in typing speed and accuracy after 3 days. And on the way I’m learning to use 10 fingers for typing and hell of a lot of shortcuts. #keyboard #zsa #moonlander #typing #mechanicalkeyboard #ergokeyboard #ergonomics

Monkeytype https://seerlite.github.io/monkeytype/ is a good, open source, alternative to #ZSA's type.ing https://typ.ing/ , but my problem is that both of them focus on sentences of text. Most of what I do is code and restructuring, with lots of copy/cut/paste and modifier keys. So they're not really great practice for what I need most with my #MoonLander.

Are TRRS coiled cables really that expensive to manufacture, or is it a case of "these cables are mostly bought by keyboard geeks who don't hesitate to drop a good amount of cash for this stuff" that makes them overpriced?

If you know of a seller with good quality/price, let me know please! I'm looking for a cable for my Moonlander.
