My family wanted a dice tower for a few weeks, but with #KyivPowerCut we only had 4h with power at a time, sometimes 7. And my slicer said 15h… But there was one day we had power from 11 in the morning and till the next evening. I had to finish by bedtime, so I coaxed the slicer to 12h, and in reality it finished printing some 1.5h earlier.

Finished my very first GM-Screen with an integrated dice tower ⚔️ The dice tower was inspired by the Hollow Tower from Baldurs Gate 3 with some extra tentacles 🐙 which can be replaced since they are magnetic.

I've been playing with #XPSFoam some more and built this #dicetower. I'm not entirely happy with the paint. This is the first time I've painted something this big and both the wash and the dry brush didn't turn out quite as I'd hoped. The highlight colours I chose for the stone blocks also didn't turn out as natural looking as I'd intended. I'm thinking an oil wash might help but I'm worried it might get through the sealant and eat the foam.

Was gibt es neues? Ich habe heute Nachmittag am #Würfelturm weitergebastelt. Der Rand des Auslauffläche ist jetzt Farbig, die Faketür eingebaut, den ganzen Turm zum einen mit weiss trocken gebürstet und später noch mit künstlichen Moos beklebt. Das soll so aussehen als ob sich die Natur Teile des Turms wieder geholt hat.
Jetzt fehlt nur noch das 'Moos" an der Auslauffläche dann ist er fertig.

Took a little while to source the right tufts for the base, but the dice tower is all done! Love this whole thing and can't help but smile looking at our little chameleon friend on top 😊

This isn't the best photo, but I've been trying to decide if I should fill in the base around this tree with texture paste, rocks, grass tufts, etc or just leave it be.

Some more wips for today.
I've been looking forward to painting the vines and flowers on this for a while, and I've gotta say: not disappointed, love them 💕. Shadows and highlights still to come but anytime there's bright colors I get excited.
... speaking of which - just blocking in the main bright colors on the next harlequin in my troupe (#3). At this point I'm mostly making sure that I haven't put any of the main triad right next to each other. If I just get the colors on there I don't have to worry about shooting myself in the foot as I go. Maybe.

Hallo liebe bubble, ich denke gerade darüber nach, mir und meiner Freundin endlich mal würfeltürme zu kaufen. Allerdings habe ich mich noch nie mit dem Thema würfeltürme befasst. Daher meine Fragen an all die PnP Menschen:
Welche Türme sind zu empfehlen? Muss ich auf irgendetwas besonderes achten?
Oh, und als Zusatzinfo: ich würde es gerne Vermeiden bei Amazon bestellen zu müssen.

Spent some time today refurbishing my DIY dice tower. It's very old and was falling apart after several moves. It was also just plain beige-colored before. So I decided to do a quick painting hack job adding some depth and texture. I really didn't know what I was doing but still pretty happy with how it came out.
Kicking myself for forgetting to take a before photo 😅

A set of 4 dice towers.
Created from scratch with identical interiors made from foamcore, but unique exteriors made from mostly card.The 4 themes are;
Castle,
Fantasy,
Sci-fi,
Alien.We play a lot of boardgames and the like as a family, so these were well received.

Not sure what to think of Tom Vasel’s review of Brass: Birmingham. I appreciate the effort he put into explaining his point and it’s absolutely okay to not like a popular (and objectively great ;) game. But I still find his arguments regarding loans, the long-term strategy focus, and the card management not really correct. There must be something else that puts him off. (Also Roxley’s graphics desing/production is not “A+”.) 🤷♂️ #boardgames #dicetower
