My family wanted a dice tower for a few weeks, but with #KyivPowerCut we only had 4h with power at a time, sometimes 7. And my slicer said 15h… But there was one day we had power from 11 in the morning and till the next evening. I had to finish by bedtime, so I coaxed the slicer to 12h, and in reality it finished printing some 1.5h earlier.

I've been playing with #XPSFoam some more and built this #dicetower. I'm not entirely happy with the paint. This is the first time I've painted something this big and both the wash and the dry brush didn't turn out quite as I'd hoped. The highlight colours I chose for the stone blocks also didn't turn out as natural looking as I'd intended. I'm thinking an oil wash might help but I'm worried it might get through the sealant and eat the foam.

Was gibt es neues? Ich habe heute Nachmittag am #Würfelturm weitergebastelt. Der Rand des Auslauffläche ist jetzt Farbig, die Faketür eingebaut, den ganzen Turm zum einen mit weiss trocken gebürstet und später noch mit künstlichen Moos beklebt. Das soll so aussehen als ob sich die Natur Teile des Turms wieder geholt hat.
Jetzt fehlt nur noch das 'Moos" an der Auslauffläche dann ist er fertig.

Last year I didn’t really make much, and some years are like that. However, I got to finish out the year with this really fun piece I 3d printed/painted for a secret santa exchange with a group of friends I met online over 15 years ago, and our friendship has remained strong ever since. It was really fun pushing my boundaries in the type of work I usually do and I learned a lot and it left me excited to make stuff this year! What do you want to make this year?
