Wer #impressionisten / #neoimpressionisten mag ist im pariser 'Musée d'Orsay' genau richtig. Ein tolles Gebäude inmitten von #paris direkt an der Seine und fast visavis vom #louvre (am anderen Flußufer). Es ist ein ehemaliger Bahnhof und beherbergt eine fantastische Sammlung von #degas, #manet, #monet, #renoir... Van Gogh u.a.m.

Went to see the #Degas exhibition at the #Burrell collection this morning.
Excellent. The curators were not afraid to juxtapose his artistic merit with his racist and antisemitic views. Not to mention the teenage girls …
It is possible to hold these competing ideas in your head simultaneously.
“Degas was an artistic genius whose focus on colour and form revolutionised late 19th and early 20th century European art.
In his spare time, he was a complete arsehole.”
