Das Musee D'orsay an sich ist schon ein Highlight & voll mit Highlights wie z.B. van Gogh. Die konnte ich aber wegen Besucherüberflutung im April nur in zweiter Reihe ansehen & kein Foto davon machen. Was ich nicht schlimm fand, es hatte mich trotzdem berührt, die Gemälde im Original zu sehen. Deshalb bekommt ihr das nicht minder berühmte Art Nouveau Plakat von Theophile Steinlein.

Im Musée d’Orsay steht das Modell für die Freiheitsstatue in New York, die 1886 von Frankreich an die USA als Geschenk zur Unabhängigkeit übergeben wurde. Das Modell wurde 1875 von Frederic Auguste Bartholdy entworfen.
Edit: 2025 forderte ein französischer EU-Abgeordneter die Freiheitsstatue zurück. -
