  1. 6.5kms morning walk today. Still 40% slower than normal but the goal was to increase distance while reducing discomfort, which I did by focusing on just walking; not looking around (which causes discomfort).

Got some nice pictures though. Same mountains and valleys as the last few days but in new settings and with some new elements.

  11. So...I truly understand the "he needs killin'" feeling that can happen when one hears of a horrific crime. The urge for vengeance is hardwired into Abrahamic cultures. (That's a whole different essay.)

But I do not want the State, or any government, to commit murder in my name. #Texas is about to do it's 600th #execution. That's a lot, y'all. That's a lot.

Laura Lee #Crane was an amazing woman who spent her life teaching, mentoring and protecting children with disabilities. That she died this way is a stain on humanity.

Edward #Busby is a monster. His excuse is insulting to people with intellectual disabilities, who are quite capable of knowing that duct taping an elderly woman and putting her in a trunk in Texas heat is unambiguously bad and wrong.

But the stain of her murder is not erased by killing her murderer. It just adds to the body count.

The state cannot be trusted to be fair. Especially Texas's bloodthirsty Yeehawdists.

  16. Another angle on that heavy lifter down in Leith right now, this time as viewed from Salisbury Crags.

Those two grey and yellow tower blocks to its right are about twenty storeys tall, and quite a lot closer to us than the ship. #Edinburgh #ship #crane
