And the adventure continues: Belgium has cancelled today's vote on the chat control proposal because it did not think it could achieve a majority. With that, the Council Presidency passes to Hungary, who will have to cobble together a proposal after July 1.

#Chatkontrolle ist wieder ein sehr aktuelles Thema! - („Stop Scanning Me!“)
Am Mittwoch könnte die Chatkontrolle einfach so durchgewunken werden, was die Meinungsfreiheit und vor allem das Briefgeheimnis unser Recht auf Privatsphäre extrem einschränken bzw. komplett abschaffen wird!
Statt Privatsphäre zu stärken, wird durch die EU der Albtraum eines Überwachungsstaates Realität und bleibt nicht, wie in manchen Romanen eine Dystopie beschrieben wird.
Wir müssen jetzt nochmal aktiv werden, um das zu verhindern!

- Anrufen: Ruf in Brüssel an: +32-27871000 und teilt die Problematik mit zur Chatkontrolle. (Mo)
- Am Dienstag gibt es EU-weite Demos, an denen du teilnehmen kannst.

It likely presented only comments that supported its efforts. Dissenting opinions were auto-culled by EU Commission email protocols. It never sought further input, despite having passed the two-year mark without having converted the proposal into law. All that’s left, the ombudsman says, is likely a one-sided version of the Commission’s proposal. And if the ICCL doesn’t like it, well… it will have to find some other way to argue with the “experts” the Commission either ignored or auto-deleted. The government wins, even without winning arguments. Go figure.
