  1. Another of my drawings from Weretober last year that I decided to color! There's a bunch of them that I want to, but I especially wanted to do this cute bumblebee gal to submit for the April 2026 InverteFest art book. Take a look - it's full of great bug (and other invert) art - both real critters and fantasy!

  16. This silly little creature is a leaf sheep (Costasiella kuroshimae), a type of sea slug capable of photosynthesis. They eat algae which they only partially digest, leaving the photosynthesizing chloroplasts intact. These plastids are sequestered in the leaf-like protrusions all over its body and can temporarily supplement the algae diet with sun-derived glucose.

  21. I illustrated one of my favorite insect interactions: leaf cutting ants such as this (genus Atta) are known for farming fungus. As bound to happen in any agricultural effort, these fungus farms tend to get infested by tiny cockroaches (genus Attaphila, literally "ant-lovers").

Which means if ants had Star Trek they would totally have a Trouble With Tribbles episode.
