Das Sommerloch scheint es in der FLOSS-Bubble dieses Jahr nicht zu geben: openELA wird gegründet, Vanilla OS 2 und Asahi Linux Fedora Remix werden vorgestellt. Mit AMD Inception und Intel Downfall gibt zwei neue CPU-Schwachstellen. #HashiCorp verwundert mit einer Lizenzänderung und einige Google Chrome-Entwickler befinden sich auf Abwegen. Eine Nachricht überschattet aber alles: der viel zu frühe Tod des #vim-Autors Bram Moolenaars.

#vim has been an integral part of text editing for me for almost a decade and completely transformed how I think about and approach editing. I cannot imagine going without it. It's probably the most common command I run after `cd` and `ls`.

Rest in peace, #BramMoolenaar. Thank you for all your hard work. :vim:

#vim changed not only the way I work as a software engineer, but also the way I use my computer more generally, since I use very similar key bindings to drive my terminal, web browser and even my file manager (however seldom I use this last one). RIP #BramMoolenaar, thousands of developers across the world will be forever thankful for your contributions to our careers and the world in general.
